We would like to encourage all schools in the area to utilize the pool for learn to swim and recreation programs. We are also hoping to offer programs that are specifically designed with age-appropriate needs in mind. Take a look at all the fun activities we we will be offering this year from senior swim with multiple swim lanes to family swim to water polo!

SPORTS FIELDS

Your family will love coming to play day or night, under the state of the art LED lightning. Turf fields provide positive and safe activities with longer season usage and reduced maintenance. The Simmons turf fields will be a strong asset for soccer, rugby, football, ultimate frisbee among other sports and activities.

TWIN ICE ARENA

As part of this project, it is important to see this historic facility be granted another life and extending its legacy and honour the incredible donation from the Simons family.

This new rink will boast 12 dressing rooms along with additional storage space for minor sports like hockey, figure skating, ringette, soccer and community programs. Both rink pads will be NHL sized sheets and built with modern green technology to run the facility with reduced energy consumption.
There will also be enough space for Charlottetown Minor Hockey to offer a proper gear exchange programs which is utilized by over 200 children annually.

The new twin rink arena layout has been inspired by a combination of rink projects from Calgary, Thunder Bay, New Brunswick, Boston and Hong Kong.

• More glass windows than a typical arena, allowing for more natural light that decreases the amount of electricity required.

•Recycled water generated from melted snow from zamboni.

• High-efficiency LED lighting with smart, motion-detecting controls  to sharply reduce electricity usage.

• The highest-efficiency plumbing fixtures; including waterless urinals, dual-flush toilets, low-flow faucets and showers to reduce the demand for water.
